Barbara L. Dougan, 59, (nee Klein) of Elyria passed away, unexpectedly,  on Thursday, April 13, at University Hospital-Elyria Medical Center in Elyria.
     Mrs. Dougan was born in Lorain on April 2, 1958, the daughter of Robert E Klein of Avon Lake and the late Audrey J. (nee Hicks) Klein.
     She was a 1976 graduate of Lorain High School and enjoyed spending time with her family, her pets, reading and puzzles.
     Mrs. Dougan worked as the Director at Elyria Retirement Community in Elyria, for 3  1/2 years. Prior to that,  she was the manager of the Mr. Hero restaurant in Lorain for 21 years.
     She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Fredrick W. Dougan, daughter Rebecca A. Gill (nee Hostetler) of Valley City, her father Robert E. Klein of Avon Lake, step daughter Talia M. Miller (nee Dougan) of Akron, granddaughter Elizabeth Gill, sisters, Karen A. Thielman, Susanne L. Klein both of Lorain, brothers Robert W. Klein of Vermilion and William E. Klein of Lorain.
     Mrs. Dougan was preceded in death by her Mother Audrey J. Klein, step daughter Treasure A. Dougan, maternal grandparents Howard N. and Bessie Mae Hicks (nee Sheppard), paternal grandparents Walter G..and Ruby L. Kline (nee Reisinger).
     Friends and relatives may call on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM in Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street,  Lorain, OH .
     Graveside Services in Ridge Hill Memorial Park  will be private.
