June 19, 1966 ~ August 20, 2017 (age 51) 51 Years Old


     Evelyn Agnes “Dolly” Speer (nee Paizs), 51,  passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center following a brief illness. She was a loving wife and beloved mother and grandmother.
     Dolly was born to Evelyn and Frank Boskovitch on June 19, 1966 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. She was adopted as a toddler by her Aunt Frances and Uncle Alexander Paizs.
She was a graduate of Midpark High School and Polaris Vocational School, class of 1984 in Middleburg Hts, Ohio.
     Dolly has lived in Elyria since 1996 and had an in home day care center for many years. She has since been a housewife and stay at home mom for the last several years.
     Dolly enjoyed playing card games, going to the casino, cooking and baking, her cat “Baby”, but most of all, spending every moment she could with her family. She loved having all of her children and grandchildren over for cookouts and watching the kids play outside.        
     She is survived by her husband, Ernest, of nearly 10 years, son Andrew M. (Laura) Johnson, their children, Ryleigh, Elizabeth, and Alison, daughter Kathryn L. (John Williams) Johnson, their children John, Kaidenze, and Lindzey, son Adam N. Johnson, all of Elyria, Step-son Michael Speer, Step-daughter Katelynn Speer, both of Elyria, sister Sharon (Rick) Paizs-Wilk of Strongsville, and many nieces and nephews.
     In addition to her birth and adoptive parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Faith Boskovitch, and Sandra Szczech, and brother Clarence Paizs.
     Friends may call on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 6-9 pm in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
     Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Charles Keesee, pastor of Midway Baptist Church, officiating.
     Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Brookpark     
     In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in order to lay Evelyn to rest.
