James A. "Jim" Lloyd, 76, of Lorain passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake following a long illness.
     He was born in Johnstown, PA on January 13, 1941, the son of Helen S (nee Fisher) Lloyd of Lorain and the late James F Lloyd. A graduate of Lorain High School, he was a member of the Class of 1959.
     Mr. Lloyd was a veteran of the United States Navy.
     He was a member of Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church in Lorain.
     Mr. Lloyd was employed as an aid in St. Joseph's homeless shelter. He had also served in the Vermilion Police Department as a patrolman. He was also a local business owner.
     He was a member of the former Stylers Car Club. 
     In addition to his mother Helen Lloyd of Lorain, he is survived by sons Mark A. (Shemina Keshvani) Lloyd of Toronto, Ontario Canada,  James L. (Rhonda)  Lloyd of Olmsted Township, Donald T. (Jennifer)  Lloyd of Brecksville,  a step daughter, Jennifer (Paul) McDaniel of Cincinnati, step sons Brian (Samantha) Kurlychek of Kenebunk Port, Maine; Jay (Cherie) Kurlychek of Brecksville, 16 grandchildren, and step grandchildren and a brother Ernie W. (Barbara) Lloyd of Lorain and his companion and dearest friend, Ellen Burge.

     In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother Edward T. Lloyd, Sr. and a niece Staci Lee Lloyd.                                       
     Friends may call on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 11:00 AM until services at 1:00 PM in the Schwartz, Spence, and Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. The Rev. Greg Sellers, pastor of the Lorain Light House United Methodist Church will officiate.
