Joseph "Little Joe" Tagliavoni, 93, of Lorain passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Elmcroft Senior Living Center following a long illness.
Mr. Tagliavoni was born in Tampa, Florida on August 4, 1924, the son of the late Onofrio and Pietra (nee Capadona) Tagliavoni.
He was a member of AGUDATH B'Nai Israel Temple in Lorain. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, being a parent and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Tagliavoni was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II. earning the Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal and the Army Occupation Medal (Germany).
He retired in 1982 as a foreman at Lake Terminal Railroad in Lorain.
Mr. Tagliavoni is survived by his son Mark D, (Marlene) Tagliavoni of Amherst, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria (nee Bernaz) Tagliavoni, daughters Pamela Avaim, Esther "Penny" Brunner and a brother James Lavonn.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 11, 2017 in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Sheffield Township. Full military honors to be provided by the Disabled American Veterans Post 20 from Lorain.
