Marilyn R. Evans, 91, (nee Mencke) died October 27, 2017. She was born in Elyria and lived in Lorain since 1930. She graduated from Lorain High School, class of 1944A.
     She had formerly been employed by the Lorain Telephone Company for 9 years.
     She was an active member of the Christian Temple Disciples of Christ and served in many areas of the church's ministry. She was involved with the Lorain Cooperative Ministry in the area of food distribution. She also volunteered for over 20 years at St. Joseph Hospital and Community Health Partners.
     She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years,  Roger in 1997 and her parents Edward Mencke and Hazel (nee Moffett) Cox.
     Memorial services will be held in her beloved church, Christian Temple Disciples of Christ on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10:00 am with Rev. Dr. Bradley J Donahue, pastor, officiating. Following the services, refreshments will be served in the fellowship hall.
     Burial was private.
