Mary Ellen Mackey, 87, (nee Craver) passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at her home following a long illness.
     Mrs. Mackey was born in Walkersville, Maryland on January 4, 1930, the daughter of the late Murray and Viola (nee Wachter) Craver.
     She was a graduate of Walkersville Maryland High School in Walkersville, Maryland.
     Mrs. Mackey was an avid bowler. She was a member of the Lorain Women Bowlers Hall of Fame and coached young people in bowling. She also taught Sunday School at the former Emmanuel United Brethren Church.
     She was a cook with the Lorain Metropolitan Housing for many years.
     Mrs. Mackey is  survived by daughters, Pauline V. (Tim) Dewitt of Lorain, Deborah J.(Chuck) Stanley of Lorain, Christine H. Brewer of Saxonburg, PA, Francine J. (Kenny) Resch of Lorain, a son,Clyde   "Marty" M. (Rhonda) Mackey of Lorain, 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 nephews.
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death be her husband Myron N. Mackey in 1999, sisters Pauline Craver & Gerry Ramsburg.
     Friends may call on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 West 5th Street, Lorain, followed by a Celebration of Life service, in her memory.
     Burial in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon will be private.
