Paula J. (Stack) Tobias of Lorain passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018. She leaves behind her greatest joys: husband Frank, daughters Jean, Liz (Jeremy) Motsch, mother Dineen (Reagan) Stack, brother Francis (Colleen) Stack, and sister Maureen (Larry) Dunphy.
She would want us to remember her extended family and friends that prayed for her throughout the years, as well as the doctors and healthcare providers that cared for her.
Her passion was her volunteer work with PANCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) as well as raising awareness of ovarian cancer. She was also a member of the Patient Family Advisory Committee at Seidman Cancer Center of University Hospital and St. John Westshore Hospital.
Her desire to help her city was never so important as when she ran for Mayor, the first independent woman to run for that office. She also helped on various committees including the Lorain Port Authority. Her goal in life was always to help.
In lieu of flowers, Paula wished friends and family to donate a pint of blood every year or donate to the cost of a bench in Paula’s name “Come Sit With Me.” Checks should be made out to Charleston Village Society, memo: Paula's Bench.
The family will greet friends on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 3 p.m. till 7 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life to be held in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain with Rev. Wendy Langenderfer as celebrant.
