Diann Cotterill (nee Eubanks) 72, of Amherst, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 unexpectedly at Mercy Regional Medical Center. She was born December 10, 1946 in Griffin, Georgia to the late JR and Marcella (McEldowney) Eubanks.
She was the eldest daughter of JR and Marcella Eubanks who both served in the Navy during WWII where they met and fell in love. After moving to Lorain, Diann attended Lorain Schools and graduated from Lorain High School in 1965.
Diann’s greatest loves were her children and grandchildren. She felt most alive and happy watching her grandchildren grow up and enjoyed every minute babysitting them from the time they were born until they went to school. She also was an avid crafter and loved to decorate the house at the holidays for her family.
Diann’s nine grandchildren will remember their grandma for her smiles, pink milk, rolled toast, country music videos, kid’s crafts, conversations, the taste of soap, nicknames, being a great listener, being so happy to see them, hugs and kisses good bye, the famous temper box, playing in the sand box, the individualized piggy banks and much more.
She is survived by her beloved husband Tom R. Cotterill of 52 years; sons Tommy (Debbie) of Lorain; Chris (Amy) of Lorain; daughter Eve (Shawn) Iliff of Lorain. Grandchildren Jocelyn, TJ and Ella Cotterill; Austin, Cooper and Kacy Cotterill; Jacob and Harry Klima and Matthew Iliff, Sister Deborah Eubanks-Kenny (David) of Dublin, Ireland; Bother-in-law Roger (Cookie) Cotterill of Amherst.
At the request of Diann, the family will have a private viewing for immediate family. A celebration of Diann’s life will take place at a later date.
