Donna L. Mize, 86, (nee Fisher) of Lorain died Friday, December 22, 2017, at New Life Hospice of Lorain after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Mize was born in Lorain, OH on September 24, 1931 and was a life long resident. She was a graduate of Lorain High School Class of 1949 B. She was a member of St. Mary Church Lorain and its Women’s Guild. She had volunteered at the Lorain Palace Theater and for a summer program that provided children’s morning activities and meals. She was a member of Hats Off in Lorain County. She was an avid reader.
She retired from Nordson Corporation in Amherst, Ohio. Prior to marriage, she had also been employed at Thew Shovel and National Tube.
She is survived by her sons Christopher J. Mize and Thomas J. Mize; four grandchildren: Sarah, Mary, Patrick, Daniel; Great granddaughter Ella; brother: David Fisher; niece Katie Fisher-MacDonald and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Raymond J. Mize, her parents Robert G. and Helen S. Fisher of Lorain and her nephew Owen G. Fisher of Flint, Michigan.
Friends may call at the memorial service held on January 27, 2018 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Church, Eighth & Reid Avenues, Lorain, OH, followed by a luncheon. The Rev. James R. Becherer will be officiating.
