Jason A Baird

February 24, 1991 ~ October 25, 2017 (age 26) 26 Years Old


     Jason A. Baird, 26 of Oberlin passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Cleveland MetroHealth Hospital following injuries sustained in a bicycle and auto accident.
     Jason was born in Fort Knox, KY on February 24, 1991, to Michael D. Baird of Oberlin and Chanin Rene (nee Sidenstricker) Baird Dereksen of Lenexa, KS.
     He graduated from the Belfast Area High School in Belfast, ME and then attended the University of Northern Colorado.
     Jason was employed as the baker at Blue Rooster Bakehouse in Oberlin and had been employed by the D. P. Dough in Greeley CO.
     He was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 6273 in Oberlin, and had been president of the Cool Kid Club,  
     A caring and giving person, Jason and his family was proud that his legacy continued through being an organ donor.
     Jason is  survived by his mother Rene and Robert Dereksen of Lenexa, KS, his father Michael D. and Diane Baird of Oberlin, sisters Myresa A Jones of Belfast, ME; Alice M Baird of Oberlin, brothers David P (Mariah Rowh) Sukel of Grafton, Matthew K Dereksen of Lenexa, KS, Brandon L Dereksen of Lenexa KS, Alexander B Weed, of Muldraugh KY, maternal grandparents Don and Barbara Sidenstricker of Elizabethtown KY, Ginger Dereksen of Louisville, KY, paternal grandparents  Linda Gibbs of Searsmont, ME, Judith Johns of Elyria, Stanley and Christie Lanphier of Belfast, ME, several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends that loved him dearly.
     He was preceded in death by brothers Alexander Sukel  in 1997, Tommy Dereksen, 2008, paternal grandfathers Arthur Gibbs and Dennis Johns.
     The family welcomes friends and relatives to join them at a family gathering to Celebrate Jason's life on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
     The family suggest that memorial contributions maybe made to LifeBanc, 4775 Richmond Rd, Cleveland, OH 44128
