Jean Marie (Grassnig) VanSickle

     Jean Marie VanSickle, 87, (nee Reed) of Lorain passed away on December 24, 2017 at her home following a long illness. 

     Mrs. VanSickle was born in Elyria on April 12, 1930, the daughter of the late John Reed and Arvilla (nee Brunner) Reed Grassnig. She was a graduate of Elyria High School in the class of 1949. 

     She was a member of Sts Peter and Paul Lutheran Church in Lorain . 

     Mrs. VanSickle was a staff cook at the Lorain Party Center, retiring in 2001. 

     She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. 

     A loving and devoted mother, Mrs. VanSickle is survived by daughters, Sue (Richard) Pufnock, Gail M Mihalic all of Lorain, son, Thomas M. (Liinda) VanSickle of Amherst; grandchildren: Melisa Schaffer, Erika Mihalic, Rachael Pufnock, great grandchildren, Paige Schaffer, Madison Schaffer,and Jordan Mihalic, and a sister, Cecelia Camera of Elyria. 

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Virgil H. VanSickle and a sister Lois Long. 

     Services were private. The Rev. Edgar Anthony officiated.

     The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, 1500 Lincoln Blvd., Lorain, Ohio 44055 in her memory.
