        John M. Pfaff, 87, of Elyria passed away on Tuesday evening,
April 18, 2017 at the Wesleyan Village in Elyria following a brief
illness.
     Mr. Pfaff was born in Lorain on April 17, 1930, son of the late
John Frederick and Hazel Ola (nee Ely) Pfaff. He was a 1949 graduate
of Lorain High School and a
     veteran of the United States Army.
     He is a  member of Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church
(long time member of the former Emmanuel United Methodist Church) and
     retired from Lorain Products Corporation as a production manager
with 37 years service.
     He enjoyed growing roses and volunteered with the Lorain Metro
Parks System working on rose gardens both at Schoepfle in Birmingham
and Lakeview
     Park Rose in Lorain. While living at the Wesleyan Village, he
nurtured and enlarged the rose garden there.
     Mr. Pfaff is survived by his wife of 8 years Elizabeth Glympf
Pfaff, nieces/nephews Jeannine (Emmett) Tupps of Bucyrus, Tom
(Kathryn) Pfaff of Lorain,
      Valerie (Mark) Jacobs of  Westport, CN, and Jeralyn Seiling of
Milk Valley, CA.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first
wife Joan (nee Seiling) Pfaff in 2007, son Glenn Pfaff in 2005, and
brother Alvin Pfaff  in 1997.
     A graveside family service will be held Monday, April 24, 2017 at
11:00 am in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Beth
McKee, chaplain of the Wesleyan        Village, officiating. Monday
afternoon friends may call from 1:30 PM until the Memorial Service at
2:00 PM in the Chapel at the Wesleyan Village, 807 West Ave.,
     Elyria.
     The family suggest that memorial contributions be made to the
Wesleyan Foundation for The Rose Garden, 807 West Ave., Elyria, Ohio
44035 or to the Lorain
      Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road, Lorain, Ohio 44053.
