Margaret "Rita" (Gillies) Novak

October 1, 1923 ~ February 16, 2018 (age 94) 94 Years Old

Margaret Novak Obituary

     Margaret (Rita) Novak was born in Airdrie, Scotland, living most of her life in Lorain, Ohio. She attended Lorain schools and graduated from Lorain High Class of 1941B. She was employed by Kline's Department store for almost 25 years. She was a longtime member of Delaware United Methodist Church and an active member of Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church. She was a 60 year member of Beta Sigma Phi, a present member of Alpha Beta Master, AARP, and United Methodist Woman. Rita enjoyed her church family and helping in their activities. She was a volunteer at The Palace Theater for 20 years with Mr. John Haydseeke. She loved time spent with her great caring neighbors, reading and traveling with her husband and Donald and Clara Novak (Deceased).
      She was proceed in death by her husband Edward of 56 years, her parents William and Jessie Gillies, her brother and his wife Bill and Betty Gillies, and her nephews Randy and Jeff Gillies.
     She is survived by nephews Barry (Maria), Bruce, and Brian Gillies, nieces Peggy (Marty) Hicks and Judy Gillies (wife of Randy), of Long Beach, CA, great nieces Ashley, Haley, Niki, Melody, Asis and Amy (Eric) Gieslar, great nephew Brett, great grand niece Sadie Gieslar, Dale (Tranette) Novak and family of Vermilion, Thomas (Mary) Novak and family, and Cindy (Colin) Wright and family.
     Visitation will be Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 2-6 pm at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer and Cool Home For Funerals with services on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 10:00 am in the  Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road, Lorain, Ohio 44053.
     In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Lorain United Methodist Church 3015 Meister Rd., Lorain, Ohio 44053.
