Angelo “Angel” Cuevas, 85, of Lorain, OH, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, with his beloved wife by his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Josefa (née Calderone) Cuevas; his son, Angelo Manuel Cuevas Jr.; and eight siblings.
Angel spent many years working as a bander at the local steel mill. In his free time, he found joy by the lake—riding bikes with his wife, relaxing at Hot Waters while watching the boats, and walking or biking along the mile-long pier. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley (née Fye) Cuevas; daughter Darla (Mike) DeWitt; sons Jeffrey (Valarie) Fye, Joseph Cuevas, and Frank Angelo Cuevas; and grandson Manuel Cuevas, whom Angel and Shirley lovingly raised. He is also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Norma and Blanca Cuevas.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM, officiated by Deacon Luis Maldonado.
