Anne Mary (née VanThoor) Palmer, 66, of Vermilion passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital at Richard E. Jacobs Campus following a long hard fought battle to live.
Anne was born in Lorain on March 15, 1957, the daughter of Gerda (née Beekhuijsen) VanThoor and late Mathieu VanThoor.
She was a 1975 graduate of Avon High School and earned her Associate Degree from Bowling Green University-Firelands in 1977.
Anne was a member of Brownhelm Congregational United Church of Christ in Vermilion where she was often the liturgist.
She worked as a senior manager in IT services for BakerHostetler LLC in Cleveland retiring at 58 years old in 2015, previously having worked at E H Robert’s.
Her family and friends were the most important part of her life. She strived to spend as much time with them as possible, enjoying their company in her backyard. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking, canning, and giving.
Anne is survived by her husband of 35 years Thomas C. Palmer, son Michael Palmer, of Vermilion, son Elliott (Nicole) Palmer of Vienna, grandsons Zachary, Brandon, Tyler, Devin, brother Frank (Michelle)VanThoor of Bay Village, sisters Hennie (Guy) VanThoor-Haney of Avon and Caroline (Steve) Wilson of Vermilion and great nephews Austin, Carson.
Preceded in death by her father and brother Bill (Chili) VanThoor.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm on November 4, 2023 in Brownhelm Congregational United Church of Christ, 2144 N Ridge Rd, Vermilion, OH 44089.
