Beatrice M. (Mason) Coates

     Beatrice M. Coates, 94, (nee Mason) passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at her home following a long illness.
     Mrs. Coates was born in Calhoun, GA on August 21, 1928, the daughter of the late Leon and Etna (nee Taylor) Mason.
     She worked as a printer operator at the former Rudy Moc Photography in Lorain and Sutters Soda Shop. 
     She was a past president of the American Legion Auxillary, and served as the Poppy Chairman.   
     She especially enjoyed her dog, Zoey. 
     Beatrice is survived by daughters Phyllis (Fayette) of Vermilion, Sandra Kenzik of Lorain, son, Daniel (Susan) Coates Jr, of Lorain, grandchildren, Michael Anderson, Diana Powell, Timothy Grose, Daniel Coates III, Jeffrey Coates, Adam Budweg, Rachel Bayes, Wendy Kenzik, great grandchildren: Joseph Anderson, Benjamin Anderson, Talon Anderson, Wyatt Goetz, Abby and Emily Bayes, Dawson and Weston Coates, Mariah Coates, Daniel Coates IV, and Griffin Coates, Josephine Grose and Madeline Grose, companion and caregiver Michelle Dovci.
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Coates in 2011 and  Phyllis E. Mason and a son in law John Kenzik.
     Friends may call on Monday, Feb 13, 2023 from 11:00 am until services at 12:00 pm,  in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, with Rev. John Jackson, officiating. 
     Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain
