Carmen Socorro (Ortiz) Rodriguez Ortiz

Carmen Rodriguez Ortiz, 81, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on November 29, 1944, in Juncos, Puerto Rico, Carmen was the beloved daughter of the late Regina Colón and her late father.

Carmen worked for many years as a waitress, where her warm smile, caring nature, and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She found her greatest happiness in caring for those she loved. An exceptional cook, Carmen delighted in preparing meals for family and friends, creating memories around the table that will be treasured forever.

She was also a talented seamstress who lovingly made clothing for her family, sharing her creativity through every stitch. Carmen enjoyed drawing and found joy in expressing herself through art. Her generous heart, gentle spirit, and devotion to her family defined her life.

Above all else, Carmen cherished her family. She is lovingly survived by her son, Ismael Rodriguez, of Lorain, Ohio; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Harrison Rodriguez; her mother, Regina Colón; and her father.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Carmen's life during visitation on Tuesday July 7, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052 with Pastor Daniel Sanchez officiating.

Carmen's legacy of love, kindness, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
