Charles Robert Farlow, 72, of Sheffield Lake, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully in his sleep and in the comfort of his home on February 10, 2025.
Charles, or Chuck as most called him, was born on November 1, 1952 to James & Verlie Farlow (nee Falls). Chuck was raised in Lorain and went on to graduate from Lorain High School in 1971.
Chuck met the love of his life, Nancy Easterday, after going on a blind date set up by his sister Cook. They were married the following spring on May 10, 1980 and built a life they loved full of family, friends, camping, gardening and traveling.
Chuck spent most of his career working at Erie Electronics as a television repairman. Prior to his retirement he also worked in maintenance at Avon Oaks and Portside Apartments, respectively. Chuck was an engine enthusiast and tinkerer, enjoying anything with a motor and wheels. In his free time, Chuck enjoyed visiting the local engine & car shows with family and friends as well as his weekly visits to the local car dealerships and morning walks around town. And those that knew and loved him will always fondly remember the nicknames he bestowed upon them as terms of endearment or the kind/caring “thumps” on the back.
He leaves behind his beautiful and devoted wife Nancy, daughter Francesca Gunn, son Charles (Felicia) Farlow Jr., brothers Mark (Kris) Farlow and Don (Laura) Smith, sister Karen Farlow, grandchildren Thomas (Alli) Gunn, Emily (Jake) Gunn, Lily (Aaron) Whitacre, Luke Gunn, Béla Farlow & Charlee Farlow; great-grans: Addison, Layla, Aubrey, Violet & Jaxson, niece and nephews: Josh (Jacinda) DiNicola, Jeremy Streem, Nicole (Adam) Perichak, Marshal Prest, Brian Farlow, Christopher (Natalie) Farlow, Timothy Farlow, Kevin Farlow.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, James Farlow, Donald Lee & Verlie Joyce Smith; and siblings, Barbara “Cook” Palinski, Janice Prest, and Scott Farlow.
Family and friends will celebrate his life at First Lutheran Church (1019 W.5th St Lorain, OH) on Saturday, March 8 from 2-6 pm. Other arrangements are under the care and direction of Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals in Lorain. Online condolences can be expressed at www.boyercool.com.
Chuck’s family would like to recognize the following as “Honorary Pallbearers”: grandsons: Thomas, Béla and Luke, brothers in law: Billy Palinski, Chuck Reich, and Joseph Easterday, brother: Don Smith, and cousin John Deliman.
Because he always said “there should be no sick kids”, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at www.stjude.org.
Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals are honored to help the Farlow family in their time of need.
