David Alan Goline, 64, of Wakeman, passed away on Friday, September 22, at Lake Pointe Health Center in Lorain after a short illness. David was born in Lorain in 1958, raised in the Homewood neighborhood, and attended Southview High School with the class of 1977. He lived in Lorain and Erie Counties most of his life. David graduated from the National School of Meat Cutting in Toledo in 1980 and worked in the profession for several years. He then successfully completed an apprenticeship as a goldsmith. David opened a small business in Amherst in 1994 and operated it for several years before moving his business to downtown Lorain in 2015.
David enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, feeding wild birds (especially hummingbirds), and music. He spent his spare time at the Lake Erie Islands, Lakeview Park, and watching sunsets at Lake Erie. David liked making new friends and attended various county fairs and outdoor concerts throughout northern Ohio. Above all, David enjoyed studying scripture and listening to sermons.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Goline and Diane (Gerber) Goline; and sister, Terri. He is survived by a sister, Darlene Rizzo, of Pompano Beach, Florida.
A memorial will be held on Tuesday, October 24, at 4:00 p.m. at Spectrum Banquet Center, 713 W. 5th St. Lorain.
