In Loving Memory of David James Brownson
David James Brownson, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 28, 1968, in Lorain, Ohio, David was the cherished son of Judith Ray (Atkinson) Brownson of Lorain and the late Roger James Brownson.
A proud graduate of Lorain High School, Class of 1987, David went on to continue his education at The Ohio State University and remained a lifelong Buckeye fan. His strong work ethic and dedication led him to a fulfilling career as a machinist at Ford Motor Company in Lima, Ohio, where he worked for over 31 years. His skills, reliability, sense of humor, and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew and worked with him. David was also proud of his research projects at The Cleveland Clinic.
David lived life to the fullest and found joy in the simple and special moments. He was a passionate collector of stereo equipment and shared that passion with everyone. He was unbelievably generous and found so much joy in finding his loved ones the perfect gift. He never passed on the chance to go to a dirt mall or thrift shop. Dave was a gifted photographer, and a lifelong lover of music and concerts. But above all, David’s greatest joy was his family. He adored his wife and son, enjoying every trip, especially Edisto Beach, SC searching for shark teeth on the beach was a passion he shared with his family. The three of them were inseparable, and David took great pride in showering his wife and son with love and generosity. His warm heart, radiant smile, and genuine kindness made everyone around him feel special and cared for.
He will be profoundly missed by his loving wife of 16 years, Alison; his cherished son, Wesley Bas Brownson; his devoted mother, Judith; and his dear sister, Krista, wife of Shamus O’Rourke, of Orange, Connecticut. David’s legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will live on in all who were blessed to know him.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on January 15, 2026 at Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052 with the Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Lorain, Ohio.

David’s love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew him. His laughter, kindness, and devotion to his family will be remembered always.
