David Textor Obituary

David H. Textor of Mentor, 69, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at home following a short illness.  Mr. Textor was born in Lorain on May 29, 1952 - the son of Howard W. and Audrey (nee Butts) Textor.

He was a graduate of Brookside High School, Sheffield Lake, OH (1970), was a Boy Scout and achieved the honorable rank of Eagle Scout.  He received a BSME from Ohio Northern University (1975) and an MSME from Cleveland State University (1980).  He proudly wore the “Obligation of an Engineer” ring throughout his life following his college graduation.

Dave worked in the aerospace industry as a mechanical engineer at several companies in N.E. Ohio, including AeroControlex, Parker Hannifin (Elyria), Eaton (formerly Argo-Tech), serving as an F.A.A. Designated Engineering Representative (DER) - Chicago Office.

Dave enjoyed sailing on Lake Erie and was an active member of the Lorain Harbor Boat Club. He was a dedicated advocate of animal rights and supported animal rescue organizations.  He was preceded in death by his mother Audrey, (1991) and father Howard W. Textor, (2017). Dave will be dearly missed by many friends and former coworkers.
