Denise Bartlome Obituary

Denise K. Bartlome, 63, (nee Steinbrunner) passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Mercy Regional Health Center following a brief illness.
Mrs. Bartlome was born in Altoona, PA on November 19, 1957, the daughter of George M. and Dolores R. (nee Patterson) Steinbrunner of Lorain.
Denise was larger than life as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend.
She was a graduate of Lorain High School, class of 1975.   She was a cheerleader at Longfellow and head majorette at Lorain High.
In earlier years, her summers consisted of traveling with family to Pennsylvania where she would spend summers at her Aunt's house with her cousins bonding and having the time of their lives. She also worked at McDonald's on the east side while going to high school where she formed friendships both in school and work.
Denise spent much of her time living at the Jersey Shore with her husband Cliff and daughter Krystyn.  Denise and Krystyn loved the  shore.  She hosted many gatherings at her home for family and friends.  After trips to the beach, she would dust sand off the kids before they would come in the house which they got a kick out of.

Visiting Denise would lead to trips to New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and surrounding states where her and Krystyn would be the tour guides. She loved history and the arts.  While in Jersey, she worked at the Borgata casino.
Losing Krystyn brought her back home to Ohio and then she lost Cliff.
She was trying to be strong.  She introduced the arts to her family by taking them to shows at the Cleveland Playhouse which everyone so enjoyed.  She attended Black River Landing for most of the concerts which was then, that, she was in her element. She loved music, as did her daughter.  She loved discussing it with her nieces and they were receptive and they enjoyed it, too. Queen and the Eagles were just a couple of her favorites.
Denise also would love to debate,  which she did with her dad, nephew, friends and family.  Usually ended in a stalemate.
Denise was a great storyteller.  She could make people see through her eyes, feel and experience what she was conveying which was a gift.
While back home, she started working at the Senior Center in Lorain as the cook and server for the bingo concession stand where her mom attends.  She organized her class reunions and other events throughout the years.
"She did the best she could these past 14 years after losing Cliff and Krystyn and we are thankful for those years.  We believe she is where she wants to be."
In addition to her parents, Denise is survived by a sister Kimberly White of Lorain, two brothers George Steinbrunner of Lorain, Mark ( Lisa) Steinbrunner of North Ridgeville, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that adore her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cliff Bartlome on November 22, 2008 and her daughter Krystyn Bartlome on August 24, 2007.
A gathering to receive friends and relatives will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 1:00 pm until closing prayers at 3:00 pm in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
A Celebration of her life is planned for later.

Burial will held privately at a later date.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to offset the funeral and burial cost.
