In Loving Memory of Dianna Senko Schaefer
June 1, 1942 – October 16, 2025
Dianna Schaefer, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and warm memories. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on June 1, 1942, she was the cherished daughter of the late Margaret (Klima) and Albert Senko.
Dianna’s life was rich with simple joys and the kind of love that touched everyone she met. She was a devoted member of St. Mary Church in Lorain, Ohio, where her faith was a constant comfort and guide throughout her life. She spent her career nurturing young hearts and minds as a daycare provider at St. Peter Church—an extension of the deep compassion and care she showed to all.
A woman of many delightful passions, Dianna was a proud spoon collector and known for her world-famous carrot cake, a recipe that brought joy to countless family gatherings. She loved puzzles, sticker books, reading, board games, playing cards and the music of Elvis Presley—often playing his records as she baked or enjoyed a quiet moment at home.
Dianna is survived by her loving children Deborah L. Keaton (Greg) of Grafton, Ohio.Darlene M. Schaefer of Vermilion, Ohio, David A. Schaefer (Stephanie) of Vermilion, Ohio and Bob D. Schaefer (Susan) of Lorain, Ohio. Most of all she was survived by her long time companion Emil Novotny of 13 years.
She is also survived by her dear brother, Albert Senko (Deborah), and three beloved sisters: Sandra Hall, Eleanor Musser, and Angie Seggie (Curtis).
Her legacy lives on through her seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one more little blessing on the way.
Dianna is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Schaefer; her parents, Albert and Margaret Senko; and five sisters, who welcomed her into eternal rest.
