E. Shyrlayne Gajdzik, 81, (nee Hardman) passed away on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at the Stein Hospice in Sandusky.
Mrs. Gajdzik was born in Alliance, Ohio on May 8, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Roy W. and Annabelle (nee Humphries) Hardman.
She was a graduate of the Aultman Hospital School of Nursing and served as a registered nurse. She was a member of various nursing groups and especially enjoyed volunteer work. Most recently Shyrlayne worked as a dialysis nurse and then became the volunteer coordinator in order to transfer her knowledge to other hospitals and dialysis units.
Shyrlayne is survived by her husband of 60 years, Michael N. Gajdzik, Sr., daughters, Michelle Cooper of Vermilion, Kathryn A (Robert) Roberts of Southlake TX, Stephanie L (Scott) Adams of Strongsville, son Michael N (Stephanie) Gajdzik, Jr, of Rochester, MI, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a large family of siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be greatly missed by all as she was a ray of sunshine in all of our lives.
Friends may call on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, from 4-7 p.m.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 2:30 PM in the funeral home.
Burial will be private.
