Emma Fischer, 98 (nee Pataky) passed away peacefully surrounded by love from her family on February 05, 2025 at the Cleveland Clinic Avon following a brief illness.
Mrs. Fischer was born in Lorain on June 22, 1926, the daughter of the late George J. and Gizella "Grace" Chapen Pataky. She was a graduate of Lorain High School.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer and dedicated member of the Service Guild. Over the years she helped prepare and serve many meals and desserts for special occasions and bake sales.
In her younger years, Mrs. Fischer was employed at Neisner's in Lorain, US Steel and General Industries. She spent most of her life as a devoted wife and mother. When her children were young, she enjoyed volunteering as a home room mother at Lakeview Elementary School in Lorain. She especially enjoyed cooking, baking and making holidays special for her family. Her love of all things culinary led her to collect many cookbooks and recipes over the years which have since been passed down in the family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed historical biographies and books about the royal family.
Mrs. Fischer is survived by her Daughter Debra L. Temerario (Tom) of Lorain and Son Gary R. Fischer (Andrea) also of Lorain. She has two Granddaughters: Rebecca L. Temerario-Lloyd (Leland) of Bay Village and Natalie M. Fischer of Indianapolis, IN.
She is also survived by brothers Steve Pataky of North Ridgeville and John Pataky of Lorain along with with many Nieces and Nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 2014 by her loving Husband of 68 years, Raymond H. Fischer, sisters Emma Pataky (in infancy), Elvira Pataky, Nancy Bevan, Val Holdren, Rosemary Kennedy and Brothers George Pataky and Joseph Pataky.
A graveside service and burial will be held on Monday February 10, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, 44805 North Ridge Road, Amherst, Ohio 44001.
A Luncheon will follow at the Croatian Club, 4846 Oberlin Ave. in Lorain.
