Gloria Taylor Obituary

Gloria J. Taylor, 74, (nee Strohacker) passed on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at her home following a brief illness.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Lorain on August 22, 1947, the daughter of the late Gerald and Rita J. (nee Bartlebaugh) Strohacker. She was a graduate of Lorain High School, Class of 1965.
She was a licensed beautician. She received the highest examination score for her beautician state boards. She retired from the Lorain County Airport in Elyria after more than 30 years of service.
Mrs. Taylor is a member of the Eastern Star. She loved to ice skate and as a young adult was given the opportunity to join the Ice Capades.  She was an avid bird watcher and tried very hard every year to attract bluebirds to her home.  She was an aviation enthusiast who enjoyed attending the Cleveland Air Show every year and going for short airplane rides at work.  Her grandchildren meant the world to her and her life revolved around them.  She loved hosting pool parties for any family member who celebrated a birthday in the summer.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 53 years Benny C. Taylor, daughter Tina M.(Matthew) Jacobs, of Amherst, son, Max E.(Jennifer) Taylor also of Amherst, grandchildren, Eric Jacobs, Ryan Jacobs, Jocelyn Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, brothers, Roy (Caroline) Strohacker of Lake Worth, FL, Raymond J. (Robin) Strohacker of Lorain, nieces, Lauren, Kelley and a nephew Jerry.
Private family services were held with burial at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst Township.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gloria's honor to the Marine Toys for Tots, https://www.toysfortots.org/donate/.
The family was assisted by the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
