Herron (Sonny) F. Milks 84, of Lorain, passed away on Tuesday June 11, 2024 at Ames Family Hospice of Westlake, following a long illness.
Mr. Milks was born in Star City, AK on September 24, 1939, the son of the late Therman F and Hedric (nee Hoover) Milks.
He was a graduate of Lorain High School and earned a a degree in business from the Lorain County Community College.
Mr. Milks was a member of Beacon Baptist Church in Lorain.
He owned and operated Milks Mower Sales & Services & Herron's Christmas World. He also worked at the Ford Motor Company in Lorain. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 424, American Legion, Amherst Chamber of Commerce and the Lorain Eagles Club.
Herron is survived by his wife of 58 years Cheryl Delilah "Dee" (nee Kohart) Milks, and sons William J (Rita) Milks, of Lorain; James W (Lysa) Milks, of Amherst, Grandchildren Jennifer (Carlos) Rodriguez, Cheryl Hill, Tabitha Milks, April Milks, James Milks Jr.,Brandon (Kimberely) Milks and Rebecca Milks, Great Grandchildren- Jasmyn Munoz, Elijah Munoz, Kiara Milks, Chaise Milks, Koltin Milks, Hailey Milks, Kaylee Guggenbiller, Smantha Guggenbiller, Hannah Nerad, Zach Nerad, Jayden Milks and Logan Milks and sister Jean DiFilippo, of Elyria. Step Grandchildren Tonya (Randy) Lambert and Richard (Stacy) Vayda.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Kit Milks, 4 brothers and 1 sister.
Friends may call on Tuesday June 18th from 2 -4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. in the Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals at 1124 5th St., Lorain. Masonic Services will be provided at 3:45 P.M. by the Vermilion Masonic Lodge.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 19th 10 A.M. at Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals with Rev. Tony Mannon officiating.
Burial will be in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery Amherst Township.
