Hurley Kempton, Jr, 90, of Lorain passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020 unexpectedly at his home.
Mr. Kempton was born in Clincho, VA on February 22, 1930, the son of the late William Hurley and Florence (nee Smith) Kempton, Sr.
He was a United States Army veteran and served 12 years in the Army National Guard following his discharge from active duty.
He owned and operated his own trucking business and was a member of the local teamsters union.. He enjoyed discussing current events and political issues. He enjoyed learning and gathering information.
Hurley is survived by daughters Rebecca E Kempton, of Cleveland, Victoria E Kempton of Lorain, Rachel L. (Tony Dolin) Rodriguez, also of Lorain, a son Christopher (Sherri) Jones, of Ashland, grandchildren: , Spencer Cox, Justin Reyes, Sarah Kempton, Amanda Reyes, Megan Rodriguez, Jonathan Jones, Adam Jones, Matthew Jones, Ashley Gregg, great grandchildren: Tyler Cox, Jordan Cox, Kynoah Cox, Ava Cox, Andrew Reyes, Tony Munez, Gauge Gregg, Alexavier Reyes, Mya Reyes, Avery Reyes, sisters Geraldine (Ray) Moretz of Lorain, Lorrine (John) Barnhart, of Monroeville, Patsy (Jesse) James of Kentucky, brother Roger Kempton of Sandusky and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, her was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (nee Block) in 2009, grandson Nicholas Rodriguez, brother Clement Kempton, sisters Ina Brown and Pauline Kempton.
Friends may call on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 from 1:00 pm until services at 4:00 pm. in the funeral home.
Burial will be on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 10:30 pm in The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman with full military honors.
