James Edward Haviland, 73, of Lorain passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at the Regency West Hospital following a long illness.
Mr. Haviland was born on May 25, 1949 in Cleveland, the son of the late James L. and Patricia E. (nee Cottrell) Haviland.
He was a retired welder and mechanic for the Trident Company and had been employed by the former P. C. Campana for more than 20 years as a foreman.
Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years Mary J. (nee Comstock) Haviland, daughters Michelle M. (Jeff) Willis, Carrie L (Rex III) DeCost, Cathy E. Haviland all of Lorain, Mary Ann "Sissy" Haviland of Amherst, son James L. (Judy) Haviland Jr.of Lorain, grandchildren; Anastashia Willis, Destiny Willis, Moesha Cray, Ashlynn Willis, Diamond Kovacs, Hailey Kovacs, Richard Kovacs III, Elizabeth Eison, Stephon Love, James Haviland II, Aubree Haviland, Donna-Jane Gibbons, Kortney Spears, Shonna Flanigan, D’Andre Willis, 21 great grandchildren, sisters Barbara Runyon of Rosedale, IN, Loretta (Jim) King of North Ridgeville, brother Butch (Karen) Haviland of Rosedale, IN, lots of “adopted” daughters and his favorite companion, his dog Milo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two great grandchildren: Amarion and Ja'Karion, brothers Kenneth Haviland and Martin Haviland.
Friends may call on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 9:00 am until A Celebration of Life at 11:00 am. In the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain with Rev. Brady Smale, officiating.
Burial will be private at a later date.
