Janice J. Jesensky
1941-2022
Janice J. Jesensky (nee Rosso), 80 of Lorain, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, after a short illness.
Mrs. Jesensky has been a lifelong resident of Lorain, born November 18, 1941, to the late Samuel J. and Florence (nee Cordy) Rosso. Janice was a 1959 B graduate of Lorain High School, 1961 graduate of The Oberlin School of Commerce and a member of the Church of St. Peter, Lorain.
Janice worked at the Lorain City Health Department for 42 years, retiring in 2003. There, she was the city’s Registrar, and because of this, her network in the community was wide. She was an avid bowler for many years and enjoyed her Monday Night Scratch Doubles League at Rebman Recreation, Inc., especially when she teamed up with her daughter in 1986. She won many city tournament titles and in 1999, Janice was inducted into the Lorain Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame as “Star of Yesteryear”. Her love of the sport was passed down to her children and grandchild.
Always putting everyone else first, Janice was a true one of a kind daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her kindness, and gentle natured spirit will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Jill Marie (Christopher) Biro of Lorain, a son, Jay Edward Jesensky of Bay Village, and her grandson Drew Biro of Lorain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Edward R. Jesensky.
Services were private with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
