Judith Carol (Hartmann) Ziegman, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, devotion, and joy. She was born on February 5, 1941, in Norwood, Ohio, the beloved daughter of the late Clara (Kuehl) and Henry Hartmann.
Judith was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Lorain, Ohio, where her faith remained an important and steady presence throughout her life. She retired after many years of dedicated service as a cashier at Super K in Lorain, where she was known for her kindness and friendly smile.
Judith truly cherished life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing slot machines, bingo and traveling to Las Vegas, New York City and Atlantic City, and especially spending time on Lake Erie which brought her great peace.
. Above all else, she treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the center of her world.
After the passing of her beloved husband, Russell, on January 1, 1998, Judith carried his memory close to her heart. One of her children gifted her a stuffed green frog, which she lovingly held while she slept, affectionately calling it her “Prince Russell”—a tender reminder of a love that never faded.
Judith is survived by her devoted children: daughters Tammy Zelenak and her husband John, Cindy Stafford and her husband Kevin, and Laurie Seekins and her husband Kirk, all of Lorain, Ohio; sons Rodney Ziegman of Cleveland, Ohio, and Dwayne Ziegman and his wife, Sandi, of Lorain, Ohio. She is also survived by her brother, David Hartmann, and his wife Joan of Morrow, Ohio.
She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Jonathan Stafford, Nicholas Stafford, Alex Stafford, Mathew Seekins, Brianna Kovacs, and Rachael Seekins; and her adored great-grandchildren, Michael Kovacs and Vincent Kovacs.
A private graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Judith’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
