Julian G. Mabe, 93, of Lorain passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at University Hospital-Elyria Medical Center in Elyria following a brief illness.
Mr. Mabe was born in Max Meadows, Virginia on September 30, 1927, the son of the late Harry S. and Ida (nee Via) Mabe. He was a graduate of the Max Meadows High School.
He was a veteran of the US Army Air Force serving during World War II and earned World War II Victory Medal.
He was an active member of the Christian Temple - Disciples of Christ Church.
He was employed by the Ohio Knitting Mills in Cleveland as a sewing machine mechanic. He enjoyed "tinkering" with different things and yard work.
Julian is survived by his wife Ellen C. (nee Cline) Mabe, daughter Deena Mabe Talbert of Charlotte, NC, sons Edwin (Mary Kay) Mabe of Beavercreek, Steven (Margaret) Mabe of Avon, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, brother James (Sandra) Mabe of Max Meadows, VA.
Friends may call on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, June 17 at 1:00 pm in the Christian Temple-Disciples of Christ Church, 940 W. 5th Street, Lorain. Rev. Leila Jindra, pastor of Christian Temple will officiate. Burial with full military services will follow in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst Township.
