Kenneth G. Thompson, 62 of Elyria passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Ames Family Hospice in Westlake following a brief illness.
Mr. Thompson was born in Berea, on August 4, 1957, a son of the late John R. and Sylvia E. (nee Sandercock) Thompson. He lived in Berea and Elyria most of his life.
He was a self employed auto body repairman earlier in his career, before becoming a stay-at-home single father of five. Mr. Thompson was known for having painted a presidential rail car of a historical Harrisburg Train, that several US Presidents have ridden in.
Mr. Thompson also enjoyed painting (oil and acrylic), woodworking, and working on cars.
Ken is survived by daughters, Amanda R Thompson, Carlie E. (George) Callicoat, sons James L. Thompson (Chanelle Lajiness), Brandon J Thompson, all of Elyria, Andrew P.(Angelica) Thompson of Parma; step son Robert J Kraft of Cleveland, grandchildren: Aaliyah, Jayden, Liana, Gabriella, Elijah, Janessa, Peyton, Austin, Matthew, Micah, Jayce, Mallory, and his brother, Thomas L. Thompson of Berea.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Jack L. Thompson,
A Celebration of Ken's life will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 7:00 PM, in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. Friends and relatives may call on the family from 6:00 PM until services at 7:00 p.m.
