Kristine Rae (Cooley) Ward

     Kristine R. (nee Cooley) Ward, 75 of Avon Lake passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at her home following a long illness.
     Mrs. Ward was born in Elyria on January 21, 1945, a daughter of the late Robert and JoAnn (nee Rawson) Cooley. She was a 1963 graduate of Lorain High School.
     Kristine retired from the accounting department at A. J Rose Manufacturing following 20 plus years of service.
    Kristine was the loving mother of 3 children; Amie, Rusty and Danny, she was caring and actively involved in her children’s lives. Kris loved all animals, especially her dog Gus and her horse Barbie.  Kristy also enjoyed boating,  vacationing, and spending time with her friends at the Amvets Hall Lorain.
     Kristine is survived by her daughter, Amie (Robert) Macura, of Avon Lake, her son, Daniel (Angie Stevens) Ward of Avon Lake, granddaughter Kaci Ward and her sisters, Barbara Sterling of Amherst and Mary Ann Miller of Lorain and companion  Gene Mudrock. 
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William R. Ward in 2008, and a son William "Rusty" Ward in 1987. 
     Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020 at noon in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst Township.
     The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Friendship, Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Rd, Elyria, OH 44035 in her memory.
     Arrangements are being handled by the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
