Michael Earl "Mike" Simms, 67 of Lorain passed away on Friday, February 9 at the Mercy New Life Hospice following a short illness.
Mr. Simms was born in Washington, DC on June 22, 1956, the son of the late James Bernard Simms and Mildred Viola (nee Rawlings) Simms Loor.
He had been previously employed at Webb Supply,an HVAC and plumbing wholesale supply company in Euclid. He had worked for various HVAC companies throughout his life. He previously served as a volunteer fireman at Cottage City/Colmar Manor in Prince Georges's County, Maryland.
Mr. Simms was a talented musician, having mastered the guitar, drums and keyboard. He also loved art and was gifted at drawing and painting.
Mike is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Cynthia L. "Cindy" (nee Krajeski) Simms, daughters, Michelle (Brian) Mangino of Greenbelt, Maryland, Megan Simms of Lorain, grandsons, Noah and Jordan Mangino, brother Donald (Joann) Simms of Mechanicsville, Maryland, a half brother Richard Loor of Mount Olivet, Kentucky and Maddie his beagle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Gene Simms and sisters Pat, Theresa and Gloria.
Private services will be held later.
