Mildred I. Degan, 83, (nee Dunkle), of Lorain passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Mercy Health-Lorain Hospital following a long illness.
Mrs. Degan was born in Lancaster on March 24, 1940, the daughter of the late William E. and Estella I (nee Glenn) Dunkle.
She retired as a housekeeper at Ohio Extended Care Nursing Center in Lorain for ore than 15 years. She was also a volunteer New Life Hospice.
She enjoyed playing bingo, doing crafts, shopping, watching the Browns playing football, visiting casinos, collecting Angel figurines and drinking Coke Cola. She especially loved her church and attending church functions.
Mildred is survived by daughters Joyce Jones of Louisville, KY, Tammie Kudlo, of Elyria, 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a brother
a brother, Clarence Dunkle, of Titusville, FL.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James W. Degan in 2005, granddaughters, Jennifer Kudlo, Alicia Jones, brother Frederick Dunkle and a sister, Beverly Fay Whatley.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in the Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Avenue in Vermilion from 10:00 am until services at 11:00 am, in the church with Rev. Cliff Morris, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst, Ohio
