Minnie (Dolly) Hiser, 89, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She was born on November 8, 1935, in Sherman, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Harmon T. and Nellie M. (Lambert) Reed.
Minnie was a dedicated and talented seamstress who worked for many years at Oberlin Avenue Carpet in Lorain, where she was known for her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and kind heart. Her hands created not only beautiful work but also a legacy of love and care that will be remembered by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Hiser, as well as her parents.
Minnie is survived by her loving son, Tim J. Hiser of Lorain, Ohio. She is also survived by her brothers Thomas Reed, Frederick “Dick” Reed, William “Bill” Reed, Robert Reed, and Holly Reed; her sisters Virginia Stewart, Dorothy Nutt, and Ruth Reed; and by many cherished nieces and nephews who will miss her warmth, laughter, and gentle spirit.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Minnie’s life during a public visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 1st, at Toledo Road Church of Christ in Lorain, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM with Rev. Bud Collier officiating. Interment will take place at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst Township, Ohio.
Minnie will be remembered for her quiet strength, her generosity, and the love she shared so freely with those around her. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who was blessed to know her.
