Nancy Irene McCartney, age 72, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, attended by her loving family.
Nancy was born on March 13, 1954, in Lorain, Ohio, to Robert and Geraldine (“Judy”) McCartney (née Cecil). She graduated from Admiral King High School in Lorain and Baldwin-Wallace College, where she studied business.
She was previously employed at Davy McKee Corp. and Key Bank, and she recently retired from AmTrust.
Nancy enjoyed reading, taking walks, watching classic black-and-white movies, attending vintage car shows, and supporting the Cleveland Indians/Guardians. She was a lifelong Disney fan. She loved to visit the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, where she found much joy in watching the animals.
Nancy is survived by her siblings, Janice (Stan) Zevorich, Debra (John) Caine, and David McCartney. She was a loving and devoted aunt to many nieces and nephews: Natalie Caine-Bish (Jeremy Bish), Jennifer (Michael) Dougherty, Jacob McCartney (Sara Burch), Lisa (Michael) Susner, Lura (Piper) Slowinski, Dylan McCartney (Sarah Bachmann), and Blaine McCartney. When she became a great-aunt, she showed the same love and affection to her great-nieces and great-nephews: Brianna Bish, Taylor Bish, Brayden Dougherty, Ashlyn Dougherty, Teagan Dougherty, Clara Susner, and Alec McCartney.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert J. McCartney and Geraldine (“Judy”) V. McCartney (née Cecil).
Friends may call on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10–11 am, at Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio. Services will be held at the funeral home at 11 am with Rev. Chris Francis officiating. Burial will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst Township.
