Nereida (Gonzalez-Rosario) Cortes

     Nereida Cortes, 63, (nee Gonzalez-Rosario) passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Regency Hospital - Cleveland West following a long illness.
     Nereida was born in Lorain on June 11, 1958, the daughter of the late Efrain and Sara (Rosario) Gonzalez. She was a graduate of Lorain High School in the class of 1976, and Lorain County Community College with an Associate Degree in Early Education in 1978.
     She was a member of International House Of Praise International Church in Lorain. 
     Mrs. Cortes was homemaker, who enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel on TV. 
     Nereida is  survived by her husband of 41 years Enrique Cortes, son Ricardo A Cortes of Lorain, a granddaughter Zoe Cortes,  sister Daisy (Carlos) Retamar of Lorain, brothers Robert Gonzalez of Lorain, Saul Gonzalez and Efrain Gonzalez both of Florida.  
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son Enrique Cortes, Jr.
     Friends may call on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 11:00 am until services at 1:00 pm in the International House of Praise, 321 Elyria Ave. Lorain, OH 44055 with Pastor Gilbert Silva, officiating. 
     Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 10:00 am.
     The Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain assisted the family with arrangements.
