Patricia Miller was born on March 22, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents were Kenneth and Pauline. Patricia grew up in Lorain. She and her siblings moved and lived with their grandmother, Rose, when her parents separated. Patricia had 4 siblings, her half-brother Gerald, her brothers Robert and Ronald, and her sister Doris.
Patricia attended Lorain High School. Although she did not graduate, she returned and received her GED. She was married to her husband, Robert, in her senior year of high school. Robert was one of Patricia’s friends’ older brothers and they met one another at her friend’s birthday party. Robert and Patricia were married for 64 years until he sadly passed away in 2013. Together they have 2 children, Kenneth and Pamela. Her son Kenneth retired from the Air Force and works civil service in Texas. Her daughter Pamela resides in Alaska and works as a criminal intelligence analyst. Patricia has 5 granddaughters and 8 great-grandchildren.
Patricia was mostly a full-time mother and homemaker. She did have various jobs throughout the years such as a bank teller, receptionist for a doctor’s office, Tupperware salesperson, and she worked for the Lorain Journal. During her free time she was active in her churches alter guild. Over 32 years she became very close with her partner that she built a friendship with while preparing alter linens for the church and visiting sick or elderly members of the community.
Patricia was an extremely tough woman who dealt with more than her share of illnesses but always had a positive outlook. She said every day that “tomorrow will be better”. Now it is, she is with Robert and God.
