Randy Heimann Obituary

     Randy Karl Heimann, 80, of Lorain passed away on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2022 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center following a long illness.
     Mr. Heimann was born in Lorain on January 18, 1942, the  son of the late Ralph W. and June (nee Pullin) Heimann. He was a graduate of Loran High School in the class of 1960.
     He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1964. 
     He was a retired air traffic controller for 14 years and a journeyman electrician with IBEW. For more than 30 years, Randy and his wife owned and operated the R.A.P. Company, a local confectionary store, in Lorain.  They enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and going to casinos. They also enjoyed seeing friends at the former Emerald Valley Bar. 
     He was a member of the IAV, American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
     He enjoyed woodworking, playing cornhole and spending time with his grandchildren.  
     Randy is  survived by two daughters, Melissa K. Dovala of Marysville, Christina L. Heimann of Elyria, grandchildren: Joey Heimann, Justin Dovala and Hayley Dovala.
     In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Petey" (nee Linkous) Heimann, in 2020 and a brother Gary Heimann.
      Friends may call on Thursday, February 24, 2022 beginning at 5:00 p.m. and concluding with prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
     The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Mercy New Life Hospice, 3500 Kolbe Road, Lorain, Ohio  44053.
