Richard Banas

Richard (Rick/RB) Ellis Banas passed away suddenly at his home on October 20, 2024.

Rick was born in Lorain on October 6, 1956, the son of the late Carol Ann (Rose) and Richard (Rich) Banas.

He graduated High School from Admiral King in 1974 while also attending Lorain County Community College. He then graduated with a Bachelors degree from Bowling Green State University and received his Masters degree in Psychology from Marshall University.

Rick worked as a Therapist at Lorain Psychological and then for 35 years at Psychiatric and Psychological Services in Elyria. He was a psychology and statistics faculty member at LCCC for many years.

Inspired by his mother he was an avid reader and by his father, Rick learned many tricks of the trade in construction. Enjoyed Civil War history, lifelong Cleveland sports and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Rick loved to ski and went on many trips with his lifelong friends.

Following his major stroke in 2019, Rick dreamed of skiing once again. As well as travel with Carly to show her all the places he found happiness.

Rick is survived by his daughter Carly Croyle (daughter of Holly Croyle) of Lorain.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carol Ann (Rose) and Richard Banas.
