Robert Castle Obituary

Robert W. Castle, 71, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on October 21, 2020 in Lorain, Ohio.
Bob was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Frank and Wilma Castle. He grew up with his grandparents and extended family living very near within the same neighborhood. His time spent at his grandparents' homes was one of the happiest times in his life. Bob graduated from St. Timothy Catholic elementary school and Cathedral Latin high school where he played the flute in the school band.
After high school Bob wanted to serve his country and go to Viet Nam so he entered the U.S. Navy in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1971. He then attended Denison University premed for two years before traveling extensively and using his skill as a medical corpsman from the Navy.
A man of many talents, the most notable his incredible connection with animals, his quick wit, love, kindness, and generosity toward others. Bob was an outdoorsman, master carpenter, woodworker and carver. In his later years he made beautiful canes and gave them to many of his friends and neighbors. Moreover, Bob could take a car apart and put it back together better than new. This talent came from his love of car racing, as Bob was never one to miss the Indianapolis 500 race where he and his father looked forward to attending annually in younger years.
Recently Bob bought a house and moved to Lorain, Ohio where he established strong friendships with his wonderfully caring neighbors. His is predeceased by his oldest sister Noreen Bryant Tabb Martin, his sister Irene Castle-Missal, and his nephew Dwight Bryant. He leaves behind his youngest sister Margaret-Mary "Mimi" Castle and her husband Lynn Bollman as well as a nephew Kevin Missal and his wife Patty and a niece Michelle Marashi. He also leaves behind two great nephews, Dylan Missal and Max Marashi. Besides his human connections his beloved dog Snot is now lovingly adopted by a generous friend of Bob's neighbor.
