Robert Shulman Obituary

Robert J. Shulman, 63, of Elyria passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 10, 2021.
Rob was born in Peoria, IL on June 30, 1957; he spent most of his life in Colorado; and he has resided in this area for over 20 years.
Rob was a well known yoga instructor and humanitarian. During his lengthy career, he has been affiliated with numerous health and wellness facilities including Solaluna yoga studio (Oberlin), Westshore YMCA, Elyria and Amherst Public Libraries, Abbe Wood Independent and Assisted Living, French Creek YMCA, and various Group Homes for the mentally impaired.
He was a deeply insightful man that was adored and loved by many friends and clients. One of his co-workers wrote this:
ROB SHULMAN
JUNE 30, 1957 - JANUARY 10, 2021
Tribute By Eric Of Solaluna
"Amid all the sorrow in the world right now, life adds another layer.
Last night, I learned that Rob Shulman died peacefully in his sleep sometime between Saturday and
Sunday morning, after a months-long struggle with cancer.
We grieve the loss of one of Solaluna's longest-tenured teachers.
At this point, the timing of any memorial or ceremony honoring Rob's life is undecided, but once
plans are made, we will let you know.
For those of you who donated to Rob's care in the final months of his life, thank you. His last weeks
were more secure because of your help.
For now, here are some things that I remember of Rob:
He loved the earth and trees. He loved music. He was uniquely at home joking with his students.
Most any interaction with Rob included laughter as an additional companion.
His students loved him for this, and loved his unpretentiousness.
Rob, we sorely miss the gifts that you brought to Solaluna over the years."

Rob will be buried in the New Russia Township Cemetery in Oberlin. Friends are welcome to honor him there.
