Robert (Bob) Cool Jr.

Robert G. Cool Jr., 68, a dedicated servant to his community, a loving husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, after a courageous five-year battle with cancer. He was born on November 24, 1956, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Robert G. Cool Sr. and Rebecca E. Cool (nee Clay).

On May 29, 1976, Robert married the love of his life, Susan R. Cool, with whom he built a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they raised four wonderful children: Kristie LeMaster (Chris Shoemaker), Robert (Joni) Cool, and Liza (Brian) Elliott. He was preceded in death by his beloved sons, Michael R. Cool and Jason H. North, losses he carried with quiet strength and love.

Robert was a pillar of his community, answering the call to serve families in their times of need as a licensed funeral director since 1982. His kindness, compassion, and dedication to his work brought comfort to countless families throughout the years. In 2001, he fulfilled a dream by purchasing his own funeral home, ensuring that his legacy of service would continue.

Beyond his work, Robert found his greatest joy in his family. He cherished every moment spent with them, always treasuring the simple joys of life. He often spoke of his dream of retiring on a peaceful farm in Kentucky, a vision of tranquility that reflected the warmth and steadiness he brought to those around him.

Robert was a proud grandfather to Kaitlyn Lemaster, Christian Lemaster (Aveline Wilhelm), Robby Cool (Nicole Hartshorn), Maya Cool, Owen Smith (his wife Jade), Robert Cool IV, Madison Neri, and Kael Neri. And a great grandfather to Alice Smith.

Robert’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Services to honor Robert’s life will be handled by his funeral home, Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals. Visitation will take place on March 21, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, located at 3015 Meister Rd., Lorain, Ohio 44053. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Rev Greg Sellers and Rev Lisa Morrison officiating. Burial will be private.

Though Robert has departed this world, his love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and community will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
