Rodney Miles Henderson

     Rodney Miles Henderson, born December 4th, 1928, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 16th, 2022. 
     Rod was born on a farm in Coshocton, Ohio where he spent his early years honing skills he used throughout his life. After high school, Rod served in the US Air Force from 1950- 1954, during the Korean War. Following his years in the service, Rod attended Kent State University and graduated with a Masters in both Math and Science. Rod served his community for 30 years as a high school math teacher. He took great pride knowing the impact he was able to make on his students, and vice versa. 
     Rod portrayed a caring spirit, sharing many of his talents with others. He was an excellent craftsman and created beautiful pieces of furniture for family and friends. He was an avid gardener, often juggling 3 or 4 gardens at a time. He would laugh and say he had to use the “knock and run” policy many times due to the abundance of produce- but everyone knew it was him. Rod was always the first to lend a hand to anyone in need.
     He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Karen Henderson, as well as his daughters; Lisa (Bill) Rek of Florida and Lynn (Rob) Meyers of Texas. Rod is also survived by his 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild who all provided many moments of joy. 
     He is predeceased by his oldest daughter Lori, all his siblings and his parents. 
     Full military graveside services to be held with immediate family and friends at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.  44805 N. Ridge Rd.  Amherst, Ohio. 44001.  At 11:00 am Saturday July 9, 2022. 
     We rejoice he is with his Heavenly Father and anticipate the moment we will be reunited.
