Roger Frank Moore, born Aug. 3, 1947 died Oct. 28, 2024 a beloved English teacher and
friend, passed away at the age of 77. A dedicated educator and guidance counselor, Roger
inspired countless students with his passion for literature and storytelling, fostering a love of
reading that many carry with them to this day.
Roger went to Baldwin Wallace University and received his Master’s and PHD from Marquette
University. He taught high school English and was a guidance counselor in Lorain. He lived in
St. Croix for many years after retiring.
Roger will be remembered not only for his teaching but for his kindness, wit, and adventurous
spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of curiosity and a profound impact on all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter Alana, 2 grandchildren, sister Nancy Johnson, family and many
friends, who will miss his infectious enthusiasm and gentle guidance. A memorial service will
be held to celebrate his life and the joy he brought to others. In lieu of flowers, the family asks
that donations be made to local animal shelters in Roger's honor.
