Sally G. Stauder

Sally Gene Stauder age 81 went home to be with the Lord on May 6, 2023.  Sally resided at Amherst Manor in Amherst Ohio since 2006.  Sally was born in Sandusky Ohio on December 19, 1941. She became a resident of Lorain Ohio at an early age.

Sally graduated from Lorain High School, class of 1960.  She worked at Babcock Insurance as an insurance clerk, Franklin Life as a life insurance saleswoman and a secretarial manager for 14 years.

Sally went to LCCC for 2 years and then to Bowling Green State University where she received her BS degree in Teacher Education with shorthand in 1973. She worked at Lorain Catholic High School in the Business Department and taught secretarial courses. She started the first work/study program for the school. She worked for one year at LCCC and taught night classes. Sally was at LCHS for 10 years and then went on to work at Lorain Business College. She was the Director of Education at Lorain Business College until she developed Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy and became disabled and had to retire.

Sally was a member of Lorain Business Women and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was also a life long member of First Lutheran Church in Lorain.  She enjoyed bowling and playing tennis.

Sally was a loving Aunt to Amy Labos Hanratty and to Tammy Labos Larsen ( Keith) and a Great Aunt to Zackary, Joshua and Brynna Hanratty and Kaylee and Matthew Larsen. Sally is also survived by her dear cousins in Ohio, Louisiana and Wisconsin. Sally was preceded in death by her sister, Betsy Labos in September of 2022 and her parents, Ruth Stauder in 2009 and Eugene Stauder in 1987.

The Family would like to sincerely thank the loving staff at Amherst Manor who took such good care of her for the 17 years that she lived there. The staff members were like family to her and she made many friends throughout her time there. We are so very grateful! We are also grateful for the care received from the Mercy New Life Hospice.

Friends and family will be received May 11, 2023 from 10:00 am until services at 11:00 am. in the Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. Fifth St., Lorain Ohio 44052. Rev. Donald E. Frantz II Interim, First Lutheran Church will officiate.

Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.

The family suggest that memorial contributions be made to First Lutheran Church 1019 W. 5th St. Lorain Ohio 44052.
