Scott Allen Haynes

     It is with great sadness that the family of Scott Allen Haynes, announces his passing after a lengthy illness, on Monday, December 24th, 2018, at the age of 45. 
     Scott was born on January 1st, 1973, in Amherst, Ohio. At the time of his passing, he was only one week away from his 46th birthday. 
     Scott was a unique individual, who had lots of friends and liked to be around people. During the course of his life, he was a Fire Chief in Robbins, TN and cared deeply for his family and country. 
     Some of his interests were sports, collecting memorabilia and spending time with others. He will be sorely missed. 
     Scott is survived by his parents, Karen and Gary Haynes; daughter Holly King (Brian) and grandson Nolan; sisters Tracy (Ron), Jill Harness, and Kelly Johnson (Lonnie); niece Kaiya Persaud and nephews Jacob and Ty Houdeshell; Aunt Linda Merkle (Mike); cousins Shauna (Jeff), Savannah, Lindsay (David), Dominic, Max, Dalton and Uncle Jim Allison. 
    A memorial service for Scott will be held Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 11:00 at the Elyria Township Fireman's Park on Murray Ridge Road.

Scott Allen Haynes was born on January 1st, 1973 in Amherst, Ohio. The first of four children born unto Gary and Karen Haynes, Scott was a handful for the fresh, inexperienced, young couple.

Form the moment he was born, Scott was full of energy and vigor. The only boy of the Haynes’ four kids, Scott had an individualism that was all his own. For better or worse there simply was no other like him. He was one of a kind.

Throughout his youth and adolescence, Scott pursued his interests with a sense of pride and righteousness. He played baseball and did all the things a bright-eyed, happy, young “Ohioan” kid would do.

As he grew into manhood, he gained prominence as a Fire Chief after moving to Robbins, TN. He loved his country, his right to bear arms, his family and his friends above all.

As a young man, one of his early successes was having a daughter and being proud of her. It was a little piece of happiness that he was able to enjoy before his life was forever changed.

It’s no secret that Scott was not perfect or at times, “easy to get along with” and as he veered and steered his way through the traffic of midlife, he mistakenly burned some bridges along the way. However, he later took the fiery messes of what life continuously handed him and did the best he could with it, even when it couldn’t have been or wasn’t easy for him. Life dealt him some hard blows, again and again and like a champ, he would get back up, learn what he could from it, make peace with his faults, accept his downfalls and never lose hope that he might someday regain the life he once had.

Throughout his sadness, setbacks and health issues, he was a fighter and tried his best to find the tools he needed, to fix the mistakes with others he recognized he had he erroneously made. He never gave up, he never lost hope and in the end, he was a man with a “promising past”… and although he is no9 longer with us, we should remember him for those admirable qualities, the enjoyable things and the happy time we had with him.

Gone home to God, he will be cherished for the good, not the bad, and he will be honored for the effort he gave through the struggles and strife he had in his life.

He was a special part of our family and even though we didn’t give him the respect he might have needed, longed for, wanted or deserved, we now know that without him, our family will never be the same.

Cheers to you, Scott. We will miss you, buddy. Thank you for teaching us that we all need more love in our lives.
