Shirley A (Downing) Pasta

     Shirley A. Pasta, 84, (nee Downing) passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Mercy Regional Health Center in Lorain following a brief illness.
     Mrs. Pasta was born in Cambria, WI on November 9, 1936, the daughter of the late Claude J. and Esther J. (nee Lang) Downing. She and her family relocated to Lorain when she was 9 years old.
     She was a graduate of Brookside High School, Class of 1954. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Lorain.
     She was most recently a homemaker but was the creme stick maker for the former Bob's Donuts in Lorain. She had also worked at Fligner's Market. 
     She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed jigsaw puzzles.
     Shirley is  survived by her husband of 65 years, William "Bill" Pasta, Jr, daughter Sheryl Pasta, sons John Pasta, James (Ruth) Pasta, Robert (Ann)  Pasta all of Lorain, grandchildren: Meleny, Christina, Denise, Scott, Jessica, T.J., David, Keith, Sarah and a brother Claude Downing of also of Lorain. 
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Timothy Pasta Sr. in 2021, daughter Patty Waters in 2009 and sisters Carol Bowens and Claudette Church. 
     Friends may call on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 11:00 am until a Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street. Lorain.
     Burial will follow in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
